Tram Welcomes Ordonez

Tigers Manager Alan Trammell is more than open to the idea of having Magglio Ordonez on the team his season.

"He would be a great addition to our club, or any club," the Tigers manager told SI.com Tuesday during a telephone interview. "In our game, you go on track record, and he's been an All-Star and a .300 hitter who drives in well over 100 RBIs a year."

Ordonez is a career .307 hitter with five seasons of 99 or better RBIs with 29 or better homeruns. Last year was his first season injured.

The best thing would be a performance based contract to protect both sides. A healthy Ordonez could be a solid replacement for Higginson or Monroe and would add power and depth to the lineup.
