NHL Talks Continue

The NHL and NHLPA met Wednesday in Toronto with hopes of salvaging the season. Although no details were granted this time around, the two sides said they would meet again later this week.

"The meeting has concluded for the day and we will meet again this week. We have no further comment at this time," said Bill Daly, Executive VP for the NHL.

Bettman and Goodenow were again not invited. Sources close to the talks have reported that talks are going very well, but it is too early to get our hopes up. Could it be that the silence means that something is cooking?

Hope they figure it out - it would be sad to see Stevie Y. go out on the freak play he did! I hope that the season is saved in some capacity for him and the others elsewhere that may never play again. It would be nice if they could all go out on their own terms as opposed to the lockout forcing them into retirement. Got to get it done soon because, who knows, it may cost them next year as well! Plus, hockey was already the least popular of the four major sports in the USA ( MLB, NFL, NBA ), can you imagine what an entire season, or two, would do to hurt it even more? The players really need to think aboout that and just give into the cap, because a cap is needed.

Also, I responded to your comment on my site concerning U of M, check it out if you get time and add more if you choose. Thanks for reading - later - T.S.D.

Sure would be a shame! Yzerman deserves a standing ovation from 20,000 fans as he skates off the ice for the last time.

I hope they get a short season in. I think a team like the Red Wings could win the cup in a shortened season also. Would be even nicer for him.
