Shazor Heads For The NFL

All-American Safey Ernest Shazor is heading for the NFL draft.

"I've decided to leave," Shazor said. "I thought hard about it, and it was just the best decision for me."

Shazor lead the Wolverines with 84 tackles, made two interceptions, and forced two fumbles. Shazor expects to be drafted late in the first round, or early in the second round.

Shazor will work out in Phoenix to prepare for the NFL combine next month in Indianapolis.

Kind of surprised when I saw he was leaving, I really thought that after the horrible Rose Bowl he had that he would return for his senior year. Then again, following that logic, no one on the Wolverines defense would be allowed to leave! A big loss, but not a huge loss. Besides, I am more excited about the offense next year than the defense. Henne looked amazing and Hart, although his rushing yards were low in the Rose Bowl, is a promising young back with a bright future. Braylon will be missed, but we have Breaston - who finally looked healthy in that game - and Avant. Plus, Tabb is decent and we always seem to grow a great receiver out of somewhere. Next year will be special, but I think two years from now - the junior years for Henne and Hart - that I will boldly end this comment with only two words - National Championship!!!!

The only reason I wasn't surprised is because all the NHL mock drafts I saw had him going in the second round (a couple to the Lions). Would be nice of the Lions grabbed him, do they really need a second round Safety though?

Also, Michigan is high on a couple Safeties. Although which two slips my mind right now. I imagine the coaching staff prepared for someone like Shazor going after their Junior year, he's ready.

Henne and Hart sitting on the same stage with one winning the Heisman, and both going to the National Title game for a win.

How does that sound?
